I’m Amanda, i’m so glad you’re here
Healing is a basic human right, and we all hold the potential to heal. I believe the struggles of daily life and oppressive systems cause us to lose connection to our soul and purpose, leading to our suffering. Our bodies not only hold the stories of our lives but that of our ancestors. I believe both creativity and movement are medicine with the potential to bring us into a deeper connection with ourselves, which in turn helps us connect deeper to the world around us, providing our lives with meaning. I use both the mind-body connection and creativity to gently guide you into a deeper relationship with your true self which is where healing can begin.
I am registered as a Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon under the supervision of Ryan Brown MA LPC, and I can see clients residing in the State of Oregon. I hold an MA in Art Therapy from Lewis & Clark’s Graduate School of Education and Counseling. After spending nearly two decades working in the creative corporate world, I am combining my passion for creativity and helping others in their healing process. I identify as gender queer/gender non-conforming.
As a certified yoga instructor, I utilize breath work, mindfulness and creativity in our work together. My focuses include somatics, trauma, toxic work environments, queer LGBTQIA+ experiences, grief and more..
There is no one magic tool or way to heal, everyone's journey is unique and I believe a good therapist guides you to find the answers and tools that are right for you. I lean on existential, queer, narrative and mindful theories while also utilizing strategic and evidence-based practices. I believe it's important to balance evidence-based tools with some of the magic and mystery of ancient techniques we haven't quite figured out how to measure yet.
